This article was a lecture held on the 21. Oct. 2006 on the conference "The Buddhist Manuscripts and the Buddhist Studies" at the Geumgang University, Nonsan, Korea (20.-21. Oct. 2006) with the title: The New Critical Edition of the Nyāyabhāṣya and Its Meaning for the Research in Early Buddhist Debate Tradition - The Case of jāti and 相應. It will be the first of my publications on the theme 'jati' in the early Nyāya tradition.
